  • Felling Trailers Inc., a leading manufacturer of industrial and commercial trailers, has recently received ISO 9001:2015 Certification for its Quality Management System for its Sauk Centre, MN and Litchfield, MN operations. In addition to Felling Trailers, Inc.’s 40 plus years of exceeding customers’ expectations, the company is now proud to add the ISO 9001:2015 Certification to its credentials.

“This is a significant accomplishment for Felling Trailers, Inc., and it does not happen with just one person. It took over a year for our company to get to this point with cooperation and teamwork among every team member," said Brenda Jennissen, CEO of Felling Trailers, Inc. “Our ISO journey has just begun. We will continue to work toward better processes and training which will lead to continued efficiencies and sustainability of our ISO certification and ensuring we exceed customers' expectations. I am proud of our entire team’s diligence and commitment to achieving this important goal.”

In order to achieve ISO 9001:2015 Certification, companies must demonstrate that they have implemented effective quality management systems, including a strong customer focus and a process of continuous improvement across all areas of the business, including facilities, people, training, services, and equipment. Felling Trailers, Inc.'s certification process was carried out in partnership with Transpacific Certification LTD and included a detailed assessment of the company's facilities. Interviews were carried out with management and employees, and procedures were reviewed across all functional areas, including operations, training, and development, customer complaint handling, finance, and billing. • Felling Trailers Inc., an industrial and commercial trailer manufacturer has announced that Mark Rapp recently joined its organization.

Mark Rapp now serves as a Product Manager for Felling Trailers’ Utility and Telecom Products. Mark comes to the company with more than a decade of sales and support experience dealing with investor-owned utilities, public utilities, cooperatives, contractors, government agencies and more. Rapp previously worked in the transport industry for a specialized trailer manufacturer with a strong focus on the utility and telecom markets. While there, Mark helped to develop and grow their Pole and Reel trailer product lines. Along with being a major contributor in growing the business revenue, Mark managed accounts of some of the largest investor-owned utilities in the United States.

Now with Felling Trailers, Rapp will be responsible for developing and improving the technical and marketing aspects of Felling’s existing Utility and Telecom product lines. Initially, he will be working closely with Felling’s Engineering Team to refine and further develop their Utility and Telecom product lines.  Rapp is glad to be part of the Felling Trailers' team. "I have been looking to be part of a company where continuous improvement, dedication, innovation and commitment to quality customer service are a company’s core values, not an option. I feel I have found that here at Felling,” said Rapp.  “Mark has a lot of industry/product knowledge, and I believe he will be an asset to our Team as we continue to grow our market share in the Utilities and Telecom niches,” said Patrick Jennissen, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Felling Trailers. • Felling Trailers, Inc. is well known in the trailer industry for offering a multitude of options to ensure a trailer is built to meet and exceed a customer's needs. With this mindset, Felling recently added Blackwood Lumber, an innovative, safety-focused decking material to its trailer option offerings.

Blackwood Lumber starts with treated Southern Yellow Pine; each board has 1/4” milled out of the topside. Once the boards are milled, the rubber from reground tires is infused into the boards 6mm thick. The rubber then sits just above flush with the surface of the lumber so that the rubber always makes the first contact with equipment. Blackwood is said to be safer and stronger when compared to other materials such as standard lumber, rubber, or metal.

    Benefits of Blackwood:

SAFER - Blackwood provides superior traction on any surface its applied to. From trailers to boat docks, Blackwood Lumber prevents slipping and makes loading equipment easier and safer, even in wet conditions.

STRONGER - Blackwood is made with the highest quality lumber, which is strengthened by the fusion process. The industrial grade rubber infused in Blackwood is the same rubber used at gun ranges to absorb bullets. Blackwood is made to withstand heavy impact that would crack and damage normal lumber.

LONGER - The rubber infusion in Blackwood doesn’t fade or crack like lumber. It also doesn’t stain and can be easily cleaned with water. Blackwood lasts longer than normal lumber and will keep your trailer or other surface looking new and professional for years to come.

Since Felling started offering Blackwood decking late last year they have built a few of their "show trailers" with this option. "It's created quite a buzz. Initially I think it's the appearance of the decking that catches their attention with it being so distinctive, then you add in the safety aspect and there it is. Operator safety is huge. Blackwood offers increased traction which equals safer loading and safety features help save everyone’s bottom line,” said Ed Steinemann, Felling Trailers’ National Accounts Manager.  Felling has seen an increasing amount of interest for the Blackwood option, especially in the Rental Industry where Rumber decking has been the option of choice.  For more information, visit www.felling.com or call 1.800.245.2809.

  • Felling Trailers, Inc.’s Engineering Team has been working diligently on an advanced design for the I Series model line. Officially released on February 7th, 2017, this leading-edge design incorporates additional standard features, structural strength, and ease of operator use. Along with this, the production processes of the I Series have become more streamlined, increasing efficiencies and reducing production time.

    Advanced Standard Specifications:

    • Hitch Plate – The design of the hitch plate area has been simplified to reduce the number of welds needed in production, which adds integrity and strength in final construction.

    • Tailboard – The tailboard incorporates a (4) four tail light LED system, and the structure of the tailboard delivers ideal placement of the light system along with safeguarding it from damage when loading/unloading equipment. The new tailboard design also offers a level transition onto rear deck boards when loading and extends the deck life.

    • Ramps – An additional (2) two inches has been added to the ramp width, providing an 18” center gap between ramps.

    • Tongue Area - Maintains space and capacity to accommodate a range of toolbox sizes.
