 Press Releases

  • STAPLES, Minn. (3 August 2017) –  For the second-consecutive year, National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA) has been awarded the prestigious Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. (NPI).

The annual AEP Award is earned by public and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate excellence by obtaining a high application score based on standardized criteria. The criteria are designed to measure innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement, and leadership attributes of the organization.

“NPI is one of the most respected organizations in our industry,” said Dr. Chad Coauette, NJPA Executive Director/CEO. “Its high standards for excellence and commitment to continuous improvement and professionalism push public procurement entities to be better. NJPA is humbled to be among the recipients for 2017, and is committed to surpassing the expectations of our over 30,000 member organizations looking to us for procurement solutions.”

“We are honored to be a repeat recipient,” said Jeremy Schwartz, NJPA Director of Procurement. “We have a great deal of respect for industry peers such as the City of Tucson, Mohave Educational Services Cooperative, and the State of New York’s Office of General Services. The City of Tucson and Mohave have been perennial award recipients for 22 and 14 years, respectively, utilizing the application process to hone in on opportunities for continuous improvement.  The State of New York is a first-time recipient, demonstrating a commitment to maximizing the quality and value provided by its procurement department, which serves thousands of government entities through the effective management of nearly 1,500 contracts.

“To be recognized by NPI along with such high-performing organizations affirms our commitment to going above and beyond industry standards and continuing to set and achieve organizational benchmarks as we serve government, education, and nonprofit entities.”

  • NJPA recently awarded contracts in the “Class 6, 7, and 8 Chassis with Related Equipment, Accessories, and Services” category through solicitation #081716. NJPA contracts are solicited across North America and are competitively awarded on behalf of NJPA current and potential government and education member agencies.

STAPLES, Minn. (15 December 2016) -- National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA) recently awarded six contracts in its new category of “Class 6, 7, and 8 Chassis with Related Equipment, Accessories, and Services.” The contracts were effective as of November 15, 2016, and are available to NJPA members throughout the US and Canada.

Autocar, National Auto Fleet, Navistar, Kenworth Truck Company, Peterbilt Motors Company, and Volvo Trucks were selected from a highly competitive solicitation process. These contracts will streamline the purchasing process for NJPA members, saving them time and money.

A class 6, 7, and 8 chassis is a heavy-duty truck – the cab, engine, and main frame – and is designed to have a “body” added to it, such as a flatbed with a crane, a utility or service box, refrigerated box, or platform bed. These chassis contracts complement existing NJPA contracts within its Fleet categories that offer truck body components, giving members additional options in finding a complete solution.

NJPA Manager of Contract Administration Tom Perttula says the creation of the new category was driven by members.

“Our members have been asking for these for a long time,” Perttula said. “It’s exciting to offer them access to heavy-duty truck chassis from the top brand names in the industry.”

  • NJPA recently awarded contracts in the “Fleet Management and Related Technology Solutions” category through solicitation #022217. NJPA contracts are solicited across North America and competitively awarded on behalf of NJPA current and potential government and education member agencies.

STAPLES, Minn. (12 July 2017) -- Fleet managers and professionals in government, education, and nonprofit entities now have access to a wider variety of technology solutions to help monitor and manage their organization’s equipment through National Joint Powers Alliance® (NJPA).

On behalf of its current and future members, NJPA has awarded contracts to 15 vendors offering equipment and technology solutions for everything from fuel management and telematics, to maintenance/monitoring, and even motorpooling and fleet sharing.

These solutions exist to give managers and workers insight into fleet usage and vehicle operations and maintenance. Having such information helps managers operate their fleets with enhanced efficiency, leading to potential cost savings and decreased down time due to out-of-order vehicles.

Awarded following a national competitive solicitation process, the contracts were effective as of June 1, 2017 and will streamline the equipment and service acquisition process, saving NJPA members time and money.
