Little Wonder’s Hydro Brush Cutter features hydrostatic drive with clutchless variable operating speeds

    SOUTHAMPTON, Pa. (April 27, 2016) –

Little Wonder, an industry leader in debris management, grounds maintenance and asphalt and paving site preparation equipment, offers the BRC-26 Hydro Brush Cutter. The BRC-26 features a hydrostatic drive with clutchless variable operating speeds — as fast as 4.2 miles per hour driving forward and 1.7 miles per hour in reverse — which makes it easy to adapt to changing worksite conditions.

“With our hydrostatic drive, operators adjust speed instantly for varying terrains without shifting gears,” said Bruno Quanquin, Little Wonder vice president of sales and marketing. “Also, we built in additional features for productivity, ease-of-use, durability and easy maintenance.”

The brush cutter tackles a variety of vegetation including weeds, heavy brush and dense vegetation, clearing about an acre of brush per hour. The Little Wonder brush cutter effectively handles heavy, thick brush and trees up to 2 inches thick and 5 feet high. It features solid rods to connect the transmission, park brake and blade clutch eliminating the risk of branches getting tangled in and breaking the cables that are commonly used on competitive units.

Operator comfort and safety components include a wraparound hand guard across the handlebars and front of the machine to shield the operator’s hands. In addition, five swinging 12-gauge steel deck plates line the front of the unit for better containment of debris — an added feature many competitive units don’t incorporate. Plus, a speed limiter dial allows the operator to set the maximum speed for the conditions while on the go. And, a parking break provides secured footing when parking on slopes and hills.

The Little Wonder BRC26 Hydro Brush Cutter mows heavy thick growth, thicket and brush and cuts saplings up to two inches thick.

The Little Wonder BRC26 Hydro Brush Cutter mows heavy thick growth, thicket and brush and cuts saplings up to two inches thick.

Like all Little Wonder commercial equipment, the BRC-26 is designed with steel construction ensuring durability in the toughest conditions. A steel push bar in front of the machine easily knocks down saplings. In addition, 1 1/2-inch wide and 1/4-inch thick 7-gauge plate steel skid shoes provide excellent flotation over rough terrain. Some competitive units cut costs by using inexpensive tubing for the skid shoes that easily dents and requires frequent replacement. Further, Little Wonder bolts, rather than welds, its brush cutter deck roof plate to the cutting deck for making easy-access adjustments.

The Little Wonder Hydro Brush Cutter features 16-inch foam-filled tires to prevent punctures from brush, nails, glass or other sharp items. The tires’ rugged tread adds traction across overgrown grasses and weeds.

For reduced maintenance, the brush cutter features easy-access service points. Visible indents on the unit’s sides simplify greasing. Plus, operators can replace the belt in minutes by simply removing four bolts. The tempered spring steel 26-inch cutting blade is sharpened on all sides and is reversible to double the blade life. When it’s time to replace the blade or spindle, both easily unbolt. Some competitive units weld the spindle to the deck, forcing operators to replace the entire deck if the spindle gets damaged.

The Little Wonder Hydro Brush Cutter is powered with a choice of Honda® GXV390 or 12.5 horsepower Briggs & Stratton® Intek™ engine.

For easy transport, the unit incorporates cutouts for running tether straps, which makes it easy to secure on a trailer or truck bed.

Little Wonder backs its Hydro Brush Cutter with a two-year commercial and rental warranty.

Little Wonder equipment is available through power equipment and rental dealerships nationwide. To learn more about Little Wonder equipment and to locate a retailer or rental dealer in your area, visit www.littlewonder.com.

  • Make the Cut: Steiner® Introduces 80-inch Flex Deck
for Mowing Uneven Golf Course Terrain

    Highlights:

    • Steiner® introduces the Steiner Flex Deck by Lastec®, a new mowing deck for golf course turf

    • New attachment is designed with four articulating, floating decks for mowing over uneven terrain

    • Eases mowing around bunkers, tee boxes and hazards

JOHNSON CREEK, Wis. (March 12, 2014) – In order to provide golf course superintendents with a solution for mowing challenging areas, Steiner®, manufacturers of heavy-duty articulating tractors, announces the release of the Steiner Flex Deck by Lastec®, a highly flexible mowing attachment designed for use with the Steiner 440 four-wheel drive tractor.

The Steiner Flex Deck is an adaptable mowing attachment fabricated with four hinged, floating decks and four blades to provide even mowing on the undulating, hilly terrain found around tee boxes, water hazards, bunkers and rough. This flexible mowing attachment features an 80-inch overall cutting width, a 1.5-inch to five-inch height of cut range and seven caster wheels for added support.

With the Steiner Flex Deck, operators and superintendents can reduce hand-mowing and trimming in hard-to-navigate areas and achieve consistent, even mowing throughout their course. The four decks are designed to achieve 40-degrees of motion, and can mow terrain that flat mowers aren’t able to. The two middle decks offer 10-degrees of upward and downward articulation, while the trim side decks feature 20-degrees of upward and downward mobility. To ensure consistent reliability and operation, the hinge points in the deck feature urethane bushings that provide superintendents and grounds keepers with a low-maintenance, dependable attachment.

The Steiner Flex Deck comes with a five-year warranty on the hinge bushings and a two-year warranty on other components.

Mated to the Steiner 440 articulating all-wheel drive tractor, this new attachment, coupled with the rest of the Steiner line of high productivity attachments, make Steiner the ultimate productivity system for golf course superintendents and landscape contractors.

JOHNSON CREEK, Wis. (January 19, 2017) – Steiner, manufacturer of high quality tractors and attachments,

The new 450 tractor’s value is in the versatility, and the Quick-Hitch™ System makes it easier than ever to switch

pressure for more hydraulic power, it can handle the toughest chores.

  • Little Wonder is one of the oldest and most reputable brands in the landscaping industry and it is noteworthy that they have chosen The Rental Show in Orlando to celebrate a very special milestone. During the first day of the show on February 27, Little Wonder will be celebrating its 95th birthday with refreshments, free gifts and special discounts at booth number 3662. A longstanding and perennial exhibitor at The Rental Show, it is only fitting that Little Wonder has chosen to celebrate their anniversary at this year’s show.

Born in the United Kingdom in 1922, the “Little Wonder” was the name given to the world’s first (hand-cranked) hedge trimmer. The simple but ingenious machine was only the first of many work-saving products that would become synonymous with Little Wonder. Oddly enough, the product found a strong customer base in the food industry. Pasta makers trusted the unit’s razor sharp hand finished blades to slice their delicate fresh pasta into strips.

In 1935, the brand immigrated to America, via an acquisition by Pennsylvania based, Schiller-Pfeiffer a predecessor to Schiller Grounds Care, Inc., the company that manufactures Little Wonder today. The rest is an American success story.

Little Wonder has introduced many of the most beloved and trusted products in the outdoor power equipment industry. Little Wonder produced the world’s first electric-powered hedge trimmer in 1940, followed by the world’s first gasoline-powered unit in 1955. Little Wonder was also responsible for the development of the world’s first “hand-held” tiller and coined the terms “Roto” and “Mini” Tiller in the 1970’s. In 1997 (75 years young), Little Wonder revolutionized debris management with the introduction of a newly redesigned line of walk-behind leaf blowers. In consultation with independent airflow-design engineers Little Wonder created a new product line that revolutionized the industry and surpassed the performance of all other walk-behind blowers on the market. So much so, that a patent for the innovative design was granted in 1998.

Over the course of 95 years Little Wonder products have been used to tend to the grounds of some of the most iconic places in the world, including the White House, Disneyland, the Eiffel Tower grounds, the U.S. Open and the summer Olympic village.

Today, products featuring the familiar red and white color scheme of Little Wonder are visible on landscaper trailers and across rental yards around the world. Proven performance product lines include: blowers, edgers & bed shapers, leaf & debris vacuums, truck loaders, and, of course, hedge trimmers.
