CDMRP Vision Research Program (VRP)
The Vision Research Program (VRP) was established by Congress in 2009 to “target the various causes, effects and treatment of vision injury” as related to military exposure. It is one of 35 programs under the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP). The VRP is the nation's leading funder of vision injury research. The VRP challenges the scientific community to design innovative research that will significantly advance the understanding, prevention, diagnosis, mitigation, and/or treatment of eye injury or visual dysfunction associated with military exposure, including but limited to research that will enable the delivery of care in the military operational environment.
