See new opportunities for electric vehicle drive systems.
The company is operated by its owner, Martin Waide. As a current full-time practicing design engineer, with strong emphasis on mechanical solutions, his engineering training and education has its roots in the Coventry, UK, car and aircraft industries. As one of the early originators of un-manned air vehicles, he contributed designs in the fields of powerplant, electro-mechanical flight controls and other sub-systems such as landing gear. This background, with its wide-ranging subject matter, provides the supporting basis for executing the design needs of today’s electric and hybrid vehicles.
Substantial resources are being applied to refining and advancing electric vehicles. Whilst four and five passenger high-performing electric cars are now produced in quantity, there is a future market for two person compact commuting vehicles. These vehicles will be required to offer comfort and refinement with large interior volume relative to their outside dimensions, at minimum manufacturing cost. A study of a vehicle’s previously “un-used volumes” shows that an electric drive system can be integrated into the top of the front suspension struts.
